Hi, I’m Kay Barker, and I know starting something new can be a little nerve-wracking. If you’re wondering what your first Accelerated Piano Lab class will be like, I’m here to walk you through it so you know exactly what to expect.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by your teacher and introduced to the group. Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone—our classes are welcoming and supportive. We’ll take a few minutes to settle in, get acquainted, and review the goals for the session.

The class itself is a mix of guided instruction and hands-on practice. We focus on skills like sight-reading, technique, and musicality, and every lesson is individually tailored to meet you where you are. No group learning here! You’ll get plenty of one-on-one attention to help keep you on track.

You’ll be surrounded by other adults who are just as excited as you are to learn. It’s inspiring and motivating to see others make progress alongside you—and it makes the experience so much more fun.

By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a clear plan from your teacher for your practice and a sense of accomplishment. Starting piano might feel like a big step, but once you’re here, you’ll see how approachable and enjoyable it is.

I can’t wait to welcome you to your first lesson. You’re going to love it! Schedule your first lesson now!
