Guitarist and singer-songwriter, Sam Hooper, is graduate of University of Miami School of Music in Florida and an alumni of Berklee College of Music’s Songwriting Program in Boston.
Hooper has taught guitar for over 30 years. In recent years he’s utilized his experience to expand into teaching voice and ukulele as well. He also advises on songwriting and performance skills for those who are interested. In addition to his private students, since 2016, he’s been a teaching artist with Roots of American Music, (ROAM) in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and at Fatima Family Center.
As a recording artist, Hooper has released five CDs and has performed in China, Japan and Finland as well as around the USA. His songs have been heard by millions on the TV Dramas “All My Children” and “The Young and the Restless.”
WINNER of the 2018 Northeast Ohio Blues Association, (NEOBA) BLUES CHALLENGE, Sam Hooper Group were then Semifinalists in Memphis, TN at the 2019 International Blues Challenge.
Sam enjoys teaching students of all ages and focuses on matching his lesson plans with their goals.
