Miranda Hervey is a violinist and teacher born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Miranda holds degrees in Violin Performance (BA, Berklee College of Music) and Music Education (MA, Case Western Reserve University), as well as K-12 Music Teaching Licensure in Ohio. While at Berklee, a contemporary jazz school, Miranda studied classical music and fiddle, staying busy with recording sessions and leadership positions in multiple orchestras. In addition to serving as a teaching assistant for the Case Orchestra, Miranda’s graduate research topics were focused in social-emotional learning and development, teaching beginning strings without notation, and the teachings of Shinichi Suzuki and Suzanne Langer.
Miranda’s goal as a music and violin teacher is to help students achieve their own musical goals while establishing a good musical foundation. Miranda teaches on both a five string viola, and standard violin, allowing the ability to teach both violin and viola! Miranda currently teaches and resides in Shaker Heights, Ohio with her partner, Morgan, and dog, Cora.
