Our eleven year old daughter is beginning her fifth year of piano lessons with Megan & we can’t say enough wonderful things about her & the Musicologie program. Megan loves the piano & you can see her passion in the way she teaches. Our daughter has had highs & lows with lessons (like most kids do) & Megan finds a way to keep her motivated & to help her through when she gets stuck or feels like she can’t progress. Our daughter has grown in confidence in herself & Megan is instilling good work habits, critical thinking & problem solving skills that will be valuable to our daughter beyond learning an instrument. Did I mention there was a Halloween recital in full costume last year? When the pandemic hit, the Musicologie program was up with Zoom classes with lightning speed. This clearly shows the dedication of this program to keep their musicians going & to teach resilience. The rest of the world came to a stop, but our daughter kept right on playing. You can see the love of music in all of the the teachers & it’s a vibrant music school that has this positively infectious feel to it. I know this review might seem over the top, but it’s been a long journey with music lessons that required an amazing teacher that supported us & our daughter. Megan & her teaching staff at Musicologie Dublin have proven themselves worthy of 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ and then some.read more

I started taking lessons at Musicologie two years ago at the Grandview location, and transitioned to the Dublin location recently. I can't recommend Musicologie highly enough.read more
Megan Rainey is a pianist and singer from Ashville, Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a BM in Piano Performance, and later from James Madison University with an MM in Piano Performance. During her time in school, Megan studied both piano and voice while working as a professional accompanist, vocal coach and classroom piano teacher. She also competed frequently on the university level as a solo pianist in the central Ohio and Shenandoah Valley areas, and has performed with chamber ensembles in Luxembourg and Germany.
Megan’s goal as a teacher is to help create musicians who are passionate and well-rounded. With an equal focus on ear training, theory, injury-preventive technique and improvisation, she aims to introduce her students to a variety of styles and help them find music that speaks to them personally. She has years of experience teaching musicians of all levels, from beginners (both children and adults) to seasoned professionals.
In addition to teaching, Megan is the assistant director and accompanist for the oldest German singing society in North America, the Columbus Maennerchor. She also appears frequently in Columbus venues with her cabaret rock band, Backwards Blackbirds, as well as her family’s retro folk rock group, The Raineys.
