Jennifer Bliss is a professional guitar player who has performed, toured, and taught for over 20 years. A graduate of Spelman College, Jennifer was a student of great jazz educator Joe Jennings. She has also studied guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music. A versatile electric & acoustic guitar player, Jennifer specializes in Rock, R&B/ Soul, Gospel & Jazz.

Jennifer has been a touring musician for many R&B, Jazz & Gospel artists including India Aire, Musiq Soulchild, Roy Ayers & Canton Jones.  As a songwriter, she has won several honors and awards from the Georgia Musical Industry Association. Jennifer is also the founding member/ lead guitar player for rock band, Edith’s Wish; Jazz group, Femme De La Funk, and neo soul/ fusion band, VENUS.

When teaching guitar, Jennifer encourages her students to “Learn To Play The Music You Love For the People You Love”.  As a singer & songwriter Jennifer also enjoys helping students to write, sing & play their own songs.

Jennifer likes to use her student’s favorite songs/ artists as the source to customize a guitar curriculum.  She then breaks down each song to teach guitar basics & techniques, music theory, the Numbers System/ C.A.G.E.D. system, scales & soloing, and more. This approach is especially useful for those who want to learn how to “Play by Ear”.

Young or young-at-heart, beginner or advanced, a singer leveling-up their guitar skills, or a music lover wanting to “Awaken Their Inner Rock Star, Jennifer Bliss would love to be a part of your guitar journey.
