Cassie Howard is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Choral Music Education. Her primary instrument was piano, her secondary instrument was voice, and she has played the violin for 12 years. She has many years of experience in musical theatre directing, choral teaching and directing, accompanying, private voice, piano and violin teaching.
Cassie comes to us with 2 years of middle & high school choral directing experience in a public school. Her teaching career began during the pandemic, so she was very flexible with online teaching and masked singing. During her time as director, her groups performed in Disney World, across the northern region of Ohio, and received Superior Ratings at the OMEA District & State Contests. She was music director for 2 musicals, directed an a cappella group, and led her students to all Superior & Excellent ratings in Class A & B for vocal solo & ensemble.
Cassie provides a safe and fun learning environment, while still challenging each student to be the best that they can be. She believes in balancing aural training and written musical notation so that each student can become a well-rounded musician, no matter their experience. She has a knack for adapting her teaching style based on the needs of each student, and combines their personal music preferences with an exploration of new genres!
