Originally from Portland, Oregon, Amara holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oregon. There, she studied violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy. In 2016, she became a member of the resident string quartet at the University of Nevada in Reno, where she received her Master of Music degree. Since moving to Cleveland, Amara has obtained her Suzuki Method Teacher Training at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Amara is a concerto competition winner at UN, has performed with many orchestras, including the Eugene Symphony and Reno Philharmonic, and has spent her summers playing music festivals including Brevard Music Center, National Repertory Orchestra and AIMS in Graz.
