Hi! I’m Kay, Musicologie’s Chief Education Officer, and if you’re wondering whether you—or your child—can try out more than one instrument or switch later on, the answer is a big yes. One of the things I love most about how we teach at Musicologie is that we make space for curiosity and exploration. Because let’s be honest: sometimes you don’t know what you’ll love until you give it a try.
We encourage exploration—especially in the beginning.
Whether you’re five or fifty, it’s totally normal to feel curious about more than one instrument. Maybe your child starts with piano but keeps picking up your guitar at home. Maybe you’ve always wanted to sing but are also drawn to learning drums. That curiosity is something we celebrate. Our team is here to help you or your child explore confidently, try out new instruments, and find the one that truly clicks.

Switching instruments is simple and flexible.
If you’re already in lessons and decide you want to switch, it’s easy to do. Just let us know. Our Community Manager will help you transition smoothly—whether that means starting fresh with a new teacher or continuing with your current one if they teach multiple instruments. You don’t have to re-enroll or start over. Your membership stays the same, and we’ll make sure the switch feels seamless.

You can even take lessons on more than one instrument.
Some of our students—kids and adults—take lessons on two instruments at the same time. If that sounds exciting to you, we can make it happen! You might do back-to-back lessons or split your time each week. There’s no one right way to learn, and we’re here to design a plan that matches your interests, schedule, and goals.
Music is a journey, and it’s okay if your path changes along the way. We’re here to support every step—whether you stick with one instrument for years or try a few before settling in. Let’s explore what inspires you.
